Attio for Sheets

Documentation

Everything you need to get your Attio CRM data into Google Sheets.

Installing the add-on

Attio for Sheets is distributed through the Google Workspace Marketplace.

Install from the Google Workspace Marketplace
  1. Click Install on the Marketplace listing and choose the Google account you use with Google Sheets.
  2. Review the permissions and approve. (These are explained on the home page โ€” the add-on only ever touches the one spreadsheet you have open.)
  3. Open any Google Spreadsheet. The add-on appears under Extensions โ†’ Attio for Sheets, and its icon appears in the right-hand sidebar rail.

You need edit access to the spreadsheet you want to import into. If your organisation restricts Marketplace installs, a Workspace admin may need to approve the add-on for your domain.

Connecting your Attio account

  1. Open the sidebar: Extensions โ†’ Attio for Sheets โ†’ Open sidebar, or click the add-on icon in the right-hand rail and then Open Attio for Sheets.
  2. Click Connect Attio. A new tab opens Attio's authorisation screen.
  3. Sign in to Attio if you aren't already, pick the workspace you want to read from, and click Authorize.
  4. Close that tab and return to your spreadsheet. The sidebar's status dot turns green and reads Connected.

The add-on requests two read-only Attio scopes โ€” Records: Read and Object Configuration: Read. It cannot create, edit, or delete anything in your Attio workspace.

Importing People and Companies

  1. In the sidebar, choose People or Companies.
  2. Click Import.
  3. The add-on creates (or replaces the contents of) a tab named Attio People or Attio Companies in the spreadsheet you have open, writes a header row, and fills in your records.

Importing replaces the whole contents of that tab, so don't keep your own edits or formulas there โ€” put any analysis on a separate tab and reference the imported tab from it. Your other tabs are never touched.

Refreshing your data

On demand

Once you've imported at least once, the sidebar shows a Refresh data button. It re-runs your most recent import โ€” same object, same destination tab โ€” with the latest data from Attio.

Daily auto-refresh

Tick Auto-refresh daily and the add-on re-runs that same import once a day on a schedule, so the sheet is current when you open it. Untick it to stop. Both the refresh target and the toggle are remembered inside the spreadsheet itself, so they survive closing and reopening it, and they travel with the file if you copy it.

What gets imported

ObjectColumns
PeopleName, Email, Job title, Phone
CompaniesName, Domain, Description, Categories, Employee range

Blank cells mean the record has no value for that attribute in Attio โ€” the add-on writes exactly what your workspace holds. Custom attributes aren't imported yet; if that's what you need, tell us โ€” it's the most likely next feature.

Plans and limits

Free: up to 100 rows per object type per import, all fields included, no payment required.

Paid (coming soon): unlimited rows plus daily auto-refresh.

If an import stops at 100 rows, that's the free-tier cap, not an error.

Troubleshooting

Attio warns that the app isn't approved

During the connect step Attio may show a notice that Attio for Sheets hasn't been reviewed by Attio yet. Authorising through it works normally. Our Attio App Store submission is in progress and this notice goes away once it's approved.

The sidebar says it can't check the connection

Reload the spreadsheet and reopen the sidebar. If it persists, disconnect and connect again. Still stuck? Email us โ€” include the exact message.

The import is empty or missing records

Check that you authorised the Attio workspace that actually holds the records, and that your Attio user can see them. The add-on can only read what your own Attio account can read. Also check the 100-row free-tier cap above.

Auto-refresh doesn't seem to run

The daily refresh runs on Google's schedule, not at a fixed time, so give it a full day. Confirm the toggle is still ticked and that you're still connected โ€” if the Attio authorisation was revoked, the scheduled run can't fetch anything.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect in the sidebar. Your stored Attio token is deleted immediately from your Google account. Data already written to your sheets stays where it is โ€” it's yours. To remove the add-on entirely, use Extensions โ†’ Add-ons โ†’ Manage add-ons in Google Sheets.

Data and privacy

There is no Four Ducks server.

Your Attio access token is stored in your own Google account's add-on storage, and your import preferences are stored inside the spreadsheet. Attio data flows directly from Attio's API into your spreadsheet โ€” it is never sent to, logged by, or stored on any server of ours, and it is never sold or shared.
